Ash's life has been far from normal over the past couple of months. In the span of one week, she had gone from Wage Slave college student to The Chosen One to slay the Deadite Army and everything after that seemed to be a spin off.

Figures as much. You have one traumatic incident in an abandoned cabin and life keeps throwing punches at you. Including losing your hand and a sudden trip back to 1300.

But hey, there were plus sides. Like finding the love of your life when you accidentally tripped in the supply closet.

Of course, Sheila doesn't know that.

"You never got to ride in my car, did you?"

Ash is sort of apprehensive. She's hungry! But Sheila's doing the pout and say no becomes hard. She holds the burger out to her. "Knock yourself out."

Mission accomplished.

She carefully takes the cow and cheese from her, giving it a once over before taking a bite. "Goodness," is all she can manage to say (before chewing properly), putting a hand to her mouth in case of spillage. (This is the only dress she has with her, mind you.) "This cow is quite delicious as well!"

Ash smiles a little before reaching for one of her fries. "Told you."

"Ooh - here." She hands the burger back. "Before there is none left. I do not trust myself."

"Thanks," she says, taking it back and taking another bite out of it. "I'll get one for you next time. Sound good?"

"If it would be no trouble." Yes. Yes, dammit. You will get her cheeseburger.

"Naaah," says Ash as she takes a turn. She honestly doesn't mind. Even if it does cost a bit extra.

"Almost to my place..."

"Thou art too kind to me, Ashley."

There's a small smile on Ash's face. "I try," she says quietly before she takes another bite of her burger.

Another turn and Ash pulls into a small parking lot in front of a modest building surrounded by a few trees. "Well...here we are."

She looks up through the windshield. Yes, she's judging. But not to be rude. "Thine castle is quite small." Cue Sheila attempting to get out of her seat belt. She's not that much of a damsel in distress - she figures it out quickly enough.

Ash sighs. "I know. And I only get one room out of it."

She wraps up her burger and sticks it in her bag before undoing her seatbelt and reaching in the back for her workshirt. She gets out of the car and goes to the other side to open the door for Sheila. "Can you wait on me for two seconds, babe?"

"Only one room?" That's scandalous!

She gives Ashley a nod of thanks as she scoots out from the passenger side, fixing her skirts once she's done so. "Of course. What is it I am waiting for?" Curious headtilt.

Ash runs back to her trunk and pops it open. She pulls out the case holding her boomstick before closing it again. "I just needed to grab this..."

She then rounds back around, gun, workshirt, fast food bag and keys in hand. "Okay, ready?"

Sheila nods, covering her mouth with her hand to suppress a yawn. Her eyes had started to feel heavy in the car. Time travel really takes a lot out of a person. (And if she didn't know that before, she does now.)

Ash nods in return. "Follow me then."

She jumps up onto the sidewalk and begins to go up the stairs, but she slows her usual pace for Sheila. Just in case.

She follows, keeping close to Ashley's back as they reach the stairs (totally just in case). And she makes sure she doesn't trip on her skirts. That would be disastrous - not to mention compromising.

Ash gets to the landing and goes two doors down to a red door with '4A' painted on in white. She shifts everything around a bit to unlock the door and she slowly opens it.

"Well, it's small, but it's home for now."

It's small. It's quaint. But she doesn't mind a bit. She sees Ashley struggling with her things - and without missing a beat, she's taking them (minus the boomstick - no way she's touching that) from her and crossing over the threshold.

"You didn't have to do that," Ash says, slinging the gun over her shoulder. She then steps inside and shuts the door behind her, locking everything into place.

Sheila gives her the look. You know - the one that says, "Don't even." She's got this, okay?

Ash feels herself get smaller as she walks towards the living room. "Thank you though."

She then becomes actively aware of how messy the place is. And it embarrasses her a little more.

Messy is an understatement. But this is the Chosen One we're talking about here - Sheila couldn't care less about the state of her living quarters. Although - there's always room for improvement...

"Not at all, m'lady," she replies. She takes a look around, deciding to carefully set Ash's bag on the sofa.

Ash plops down on the sofa and lets out a sigh. It has been a long day.

She moves the bag to the table in front of her and pats the cushion next to her with her metal hand. "C'mon...Sit."

She takes Ashley up on her offer and rounds the little table to sit down next to her on the sofa, her hands resting in her lap. The softness of the sofa catches her off guard, and she wriggles a bit to get comfortable, fussing with her skirts.

Ash resists giggling again as she pulls the burger out of her bag and begins to unwrap it. "So, how's the modern world working for you so far?"
