Ash's life has been far from normal over the past couple of months. In the span of one week, she had gone from Wage Slave college student to The Chosen One to slay the Deadite Army and everything after that seemed to be a spin off.

Figures as much. You have one traumatic incident in an abandoned cabin and life keeps throwing punches at you. Including losing your hand and a sudden trip back to 1300.

But hey, there were plus sides. Like finding the love of your life when you accidentally tripped in the supply closet.

Of course, Sheila doesn't know that.

"You never got to ride in my car, did you?"

She takes Ashley up on her offer and rounds the little table to sit down next to her on the sofa, her hands resting in her lap. The softness of the sofa catches her off guard, and she wriggles a bit to get comfortable, fussing with her skirts.

Ash resists giggling again as she pulls the burger out of her bag and begins to unwrap it. "So, how's the modern world working for you so far?"

"Quite nicely, I think," she replies, giving her a nod. "Never have I thought I would see something so extraordinary. And... different." A smile. "There are so many things to see!"

"And to think Dearborn isn't usually that impressive," she says, taking another bite of her burger. "There's definitely a lot to see outside of here."

"Oh - it is very impressive to me, m'lady," she replies. "And I can only imagine what things are like outside of your kingdom. Surely I will grow accustomed to everything."

Ash nods as she swallows. "Though, remind me to never take you to Tennessee."

Her face is dead serious. No way she's going near that state again for a long while.

"Tennessee?" she repeats. "Where is this Tennessee? And why doth thee not wish to return to it?"

"It's a state about 9 hours away," Ash says, reaching for a couple of fries in her bag. "That's where the cabin is. Where all my problems started."

She looks a bit sadder now as she eats, taking a moment in silence thinking about everything that happened.

Sheila says nothing. She doesn't have to. Instead, she reaches out to rest her hand on Ash's arm.

Ash puts her food down for a second to touch Sheila's hand. She then gives her a look of thanks before looking back down at her lap.

"Well, it's not the whole state's fault for one cabin. Still, I need time."

"Of course, m'lady," she replies quietly. "All the monstrous things thou hast seen... Not one thing can repair the damage. Only time."

Ash nods before wordlessly finishing off her burger. She crumples up the wrapper and looks back at Sheila. "You can have the rest of the fries if you want."

"Oh - thank ye, m'lady. But it is quite alright. I do not need them."

"You sure?" Ash asks, standing up to toss the paper wrapper. And a bunch of other trash sitting on the table.

"Quite sure," she replies, resting back against the cushy sofa and closing her eyes. She yawns again, covering her mouth with the back of her hand to be polite.

Ash looks back at Sheila as she dumps all the trash in the nearest can. "You need a nap, Sheila?"

"Pardon, m'lady?" She opens an eye. "What be this nap?"

"Sleeping to recharge, basically." She finds an old blanket on the back of one of the chairs and takes it off. "Usually taken in the middle of the day when you're tired and can't hold out until the night to actually go to bed."

The word recharge goes completely over her head, but she understands the explanation of the concept well enough. "But it is most definitely night time. Could naps happen then as well?"

"Well, yeah. It's mostly a word choice thing, but you can nap now for all I care."

She unfolds the blanket and hands it to Sheila. "Here. You can take the couch for now. We'll figure out better sleeping arrangements later."

Sheila takes the blanket from her, setting it in her lap. Lady Sheila? Sleeping on the couch? You have got to be kidding.

If she pouts enough, she'll get her way. Just watch.

Ash tries her best to ignore the pout this time, but it doesn't quite work out. She sighs and stands up, walking towards the far side of the apartment. "My bedroom is this way."

If the pout didn't work, Sheila was definitely going to resort to complaining about the non-existent pain in her back. But - mission accomplished. Draping the blanket over her arm, she picks herself up from the sofa and follows Ash, trying not to grin from getting her way.

Ash opens a door and turns on the light in her bedroom. The bed's not grand, there's dirty clothes on the floor and everything's just a little askew. Still, it was something. "Sorry it's not better prepared."

"Thou art sincerely in need of a servant, m'lady," she comments, but she means it in the best way possible. When Ash least expects it? Sheila will be cleaning. But not at the moment - she's too sleepy. Rest is in order.
